Scottish Marriage Care has over 100 volunteers
delivering a range of tasks. The majority are
relationship counsellors, professionally trained
to a university accredited standard. Scottish
Marriage Care relationship counsellors undergo a rigorous selection process and complete a two-year course leading to a university qualification in relationship counselling.
Scottish Marriage Care has opportunities for
volunteering in all its local centres across
Scotland. Our volunteers are based in centres in
Aberdeen, Ayrshire, Dundee, Easterhouse,
Edinburgh, Falkirk, Fife, Glasgow, Inverness,
Kilwinning, Motherwell, Paisley, Saltcoats and
Stirling.
A comprehensive national Continuing
Professional Development programme is provided to enable counsellors to continue to develop their skills.
Relationship counsellors also undertake ongoing supervision of their practice.
As well as volunteer counsellors, Scottish
Marriage Care also has opportunities for volunteer
appointments co-ordinators, chaperones and
fundraisers. Details of these volunteer roles can
