Our pre-marriage FOCCUS programme is a key element of what we do at SMC. In becoming a FOCCUS Facilitator you would be supporting couples to learn more about their own unique relationship and celebrate the strengths and opportunities in their future marriage together.
Based on current research about the key elements in a successful relationship, FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication Understanding and Study) is an enjoyable two-part programme.
What does a FOCCUS Facilitator do?
During the first FOCCUS session you’ll meet with the couples and they individually complete a detailed questionnaire. This takes between 45 and 60 minutes. It is then processed to identify their relationship’s unique profile. A week or so later they will return for an individual feedback session with you, their FOCCUS facilitator.
This second meeting is a chance for couples to discover more about each other. For many it is a very special session, helping to identify and appreciate the strengths and opportunities in their life together.
Volunteering as a FOCCUS facilitator with SMC is an opportunity for you to enhance your own interpersonal skills and be part of an organisation, which is committed to healthy relationships and family life.
